Morgan gets great inspiration for her work by spending time outside in nature and reflecting on the emotions she felt at that moment. Her love of nature and landscapes started as a young child hiking with her father in Virginia and grew during college while backpacking on the east coast. Her passion for wild places only deepened when she moved to Colorado, explored more of the west coast and started backpacking internationally.
In her artwork, Morgan attempts to recreate the emotions of being in wild places through color and texture. Many of her artworks are inspired from her outdoor experiences around Colorado, Utah, Alaska, Wyoming, and various other locations. Morgan hopes that her artwork inspires others to look for and seek out wild places by seeing the beauty, detail, and unique colors she creates in her landscapes.
Using a combination of delicate washes and bold brushstrokes, her watercolor painting captures the essence of being immersed in a wild outdoor spaces. Morgan expertly amplifies the natural colors of the scene, infusing vivid greens for lush foliage, deep blues for expansive skies, and earthy tones for rugged terrain. Each brushstroke conveys a sense of movement and energy, mimicking the dynamic atmosphere of the untamed surroundings. The overall composition evokes a feeling of freedom, adventure, and connection to the raw beauty of nature.
